Includes recordings of speeches by Reagan, copies of speeches and other public statements, news film of public appearances, microfilm of gubernatorial papers, and some original letters and other original documents. Shultz (George Pratt) papers

Correspondence, speeches and writings, memoranda, reports, studies, printed matter, photographs, phonotapes, videotapes, and memorabilia, relating to American domestic policy and foreign relations, especially during the presidential administrations of Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Included are materials from his years in academia at the University of Chicago and at Stanford University, his work as an executive and a director at Bechtel Corporation, and the numerous projects and initiatives Shultz launched as Thomas W. and Susan B. Ford Distinguished Fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Introduction to the Collections

While the official documents of Ronald Reagan's presidential administration, as well as his governorship of California, are located at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, the Hoover Institution Library & Archives has extensive material related to Ronald Reagan. This includes the papers of members of Ronald Reagan's cabinet, such as George Shultz, as well as records relating to his presidential campaigns.

  Citizens for Reagan records

              1975-1986

Correspondence, position papers, press releases, memoranda, public opinion polling data, financial records, sound recordings, and video tapes relating to the campaign of Ronald Reagan for the Republican Party presidential nomination in 1976. Includes a few post-1976 records of Citizens for the Republic, the successor organization to Citizens for Reagan.

  Governor and the Students videotape series

              1973-1974

Videotape cassettes and selected transcripts of broadcasts of a televised series of question-and-answer sessions with high school students conducted by Ronald Reagan as governor of California relating to California state political issues. Produced by JRH and Associates, Inc.

              1898-2021

Collection includes correspondence, speeches and writings, dispatches, memoranda, reports, notes, printed matter, memorabilia, and photographs relating to international relations and diplomacy, United States foreign policy during the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan, and the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
