Nixon in 1968 and Ronald Reagan in 1980, and to preparations for the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan; and draft and final report, transcripts of meetings and hearings, correspondence, notes, press releases, and clippings, relating to activities of the President's Commission on Privatization in investigating and making recommendations concerning the desirability of transferring various functions and assets of the United States government to the private sector (conclusions published as Privatization: Toward More Effective Government: Report of the President's Commission on Privatization [Washington, 1988]).

The collection relates to Ronald Reagan, and especially to the presidential election of 1980 and the transition to the Reagan presidential administration. It is comprised of clippings, press releases, biographical data, speeches, photographs, and memorabilia.

Correspondence, position papers, press releases, memoranda, public opinion polling data, financial records, sound recordings, and video tapes relating to the campaign of Ronald Reagan for the Republican Party presidential nomination in 1976. Includes a few post-1976 records of Citizens for the Republic, the successor organization to Citizens for Reagan.

Correspondence, minutes, legal and financial records, and audiovisual material relating to election campaigns in the United States on behalf of conservative candidates.
1990-2004
The papers primarily consist of Nofziger's writings as reporter, political consultant, writer and satirical poet; collected materials relating to political conditions in California and the United States, and documents generated from work with Republican candidates including Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Also included are materials regarding United States vs. Nofziger pertaining to his alleged violation of the Ethics in Government Act.
Republican National Committee (U.S.) Opposition Research Group records
1960-1984
The records include research materials accumulated and acquired by the Republican Opposition Research Group during the 1984 presidential election for use in the campaign against Democratic presidential candidates. The records consist of materials such as clippings, press releases, other printed matter, speeches, debate transcripts, memoranda, and video tapes regarding specific Democratic Party leaders such as Walter F. Mondale, John Glenn and Geraldine Ferraro, and specific political issues and special interest groups.

Correspondence, writings, notes, interview transcripts, printed matter, and sound and video recordings, relating to twentieth-century American politics, Joseph P. Kennedy and the Kennedy family, the Republican Party, and the presidential administrations of Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Includes research materials for books by R. J. Whalen.
