Hannaford (Peter) papers

Sound recordings and transcripts of interviews, and associated material, relating to free market policies in Chile and elsewhere in Latin America, and to the influence of economists associated with the University of Chicago in instituting them. Interviews conducted by Tobias Switzer and William E. Ratliff. Those interviewed include Rolf Lüders Schwarzenberg, Sergio de Castro, Martín Costabal Llona, Alvaro Donoso, Ernesto Fontaine, Gonzalo Vial Correa, Miguel Schweitzer, Roberto Kelly, Domingo Cavallo and Hernán Cubillos Sallato.

Boyarsky (Bill) papers

     1965-1981

Drafts of writings, notes, interview summaries, clippings, and other printed matter, relating to Ronald Reagan, his gubernatorial administration in California (1967-1974), and the 1976 and 1980 presidential election campaigns. Used as research material for the books by Bill Boyarsky, The Rise of Ronald Reagan (New York, 1968), and Ronald Reagan: His Life and Rise to the Presidency (New York, 1981).

Edsall (Thomas Byrne) papers

     1965-2014

Writings, correspondence, notes, memoranda, poll data, statistics, printed matter, and photographs relating to American politics during the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan, especially with regard to campaign contributions and effects on income distribution; and to the gubernatorial administration of Michael Dukakis in Massachusetts, especially with regard to state economic policy, and the campaign of Michael Dukakis as the Democratic candidate for president of the United States in 1988; and to social conditions in the United States.

Edwards (Lee) papers

     1878-2021

The Lee Edwards papers (1878-2021) contains correspondence and clippings, writings and research material, speeches, memoranda, reports, studies, financial records, printed matter, material related to the Victims of Communism Museum, sound recordings of interviews, video recordings and digital media. The material relates to conservatism in the United States, the mass media, Grove City College, the Heritage Foundation, the Republican Party, Walter Judd, Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan and includes material related to his work with various centers and institutions. The collection includes extensive research material used in books and other writing projects by Edwards. Additionally, the collection includes material from his wife Anne, who assisted him with his writing; clippings of articles by his father, Willard Edwards; and records from the consulting firm Lee Edwards Associates.

Speeches and writings, correspondence, memoranda, printed matter, and photographs, relating to the political career of Ronald Reagan as governor of California and as presidential candidate in 1976 and 1980. Includes drafts of the book by Peter Hannaford, The Reagans: A Political Portrait (New York, 1983), and research material used for the book, including speeches by Ronald Reagan; schedules, press releases, and position papers prepared for Reagan; and selected records of work for Reagan carried out by the public relations firm Deaver & Hannaford, Inc.

     1969-2002

Writings, notes, correspondence, interview recordings and transcripts, photocopies of government documents, internet printouts, and other printed matter, relating to American foreign relations with China, foreign policy during the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan, and foreign and military policy during the presidential administration of George W. Bush. Used as research material for the books by J. Mann, About Face: A History of America's Curious Relationship with China, from Nixon to Clinton (New York, 1999), Rise of the Vulcans: The History of Bush's War Cabinet (New York, 2004), and The Rebellion of Ronald Reagan: A History of the End of the Cold War (New York, 2009).
