Hoover library stacks  

Hoover's library materials encompass nearly 300,000 titles, with the total number of volumes well over half a million. These holdings include books, periodicals, newspapers, and other distinctive and rare publications that support research on war, revolution, and peace in the 20th and 21st centuries. This section lists some of our library materials related to Education.

Library Materials

The Hanna textbook collection: the German collection: prepared by Suk-Ying Wong. Details the German textbook collection, part of The Paul & Jean Hanna collection on the role of education.

Education in Japan: published by the Department of Education, Tokyo, Japan. Prepared for the Japan-British Exhibition, 1910, the publication covers the development of Japanese education across various levels. 

Education in the USSR: published by the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare, Office of Education in 1957. Discusses influences on education philosophy and policy across various education levels in the USSR.

Education in Wartime: by Porter Sargent. A report on and interpretation of recent thought, activities, and writings of educators and public men as they affect schools, colleges and youth.

Education under Hitler: by Vivian Ogilvie, who spent three years as a teacher of languages in an experimental school in Germany and visited many state and private schools.
