Turkic publications from Xinjiang at the Hoover Institution Library & Archives

This guide provides assistance in researching materials related to the publications from the Uyghur region of China, now known as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, held in the Hoover Institution Library & Archives. It constitutes a rare and valuable compilation of materials, printed in Turkic languages which makes this collection unique.

The collection comprises five newspaper titles, four periodical titles with multiple issues, and twelve monograph publications. The newspaper titles were cataloged in the fall of 2022, as part of the Turkey newspaper collection. The remaining materials underwent cataloging and preservation treatment in the spring of 2024, after being discovered in 2023 by Hoover Institution librarians.
